No Shortcuts to Success

Anthony Anthamatten

Journalist, Jennifer West sits down with Anthony Anthamatten to learn more about the author of Double Crossed.

JW:

“This is for the bio on your website? I have to ask since you write books, software, and music. Why did you ask me?”

AA:

I tried to do it and threw it away three times. It seemed stupid to write about myself.”

JW:

“I can understand that. Will you write mine?”

AA:

“If I wrote it then you’d be in car chases, running out of burning buildings, and living on an exotic beach with too much money to spend.”

JW:

 (Laughs) “I will take it!”

“The first thing I noticed is your sense of humor and upbeat personality.  It shows in your first book, Double Crossed. Have you always been like that?”

AA:

“I have.” (Anthony hands her a picture)

“That’s me when I was two years old.”

JW:

“That is a great picture wearing your daddy’s shoes.”

“Where did you grow up?”

AA:

“Memphis, Tennessee.”

“So much of who I am today as a person and things I do, I owe to that river town.”

JW:

“Speaking of things you do, I was  impressed. I thought you were only an author. But you have worked in television, radio, owned companies and write software?”

AA:

“I know it sounds crazy even to me. But somehow every piece to that puzzle fit perfectly in place.”

JW:

“What advice would you give  others who want to achieve your level of success?”

AA:

“Dream big, work hard, and be prepared to fall flat on your face.”

JW:

“Do you have regrets?”

AA:

“Sure I do, but I chalk them up as the most valuable lessons I’ve  learned.”

JW:

“Can you name one accomplishment you consider your best.”

AA:

“To be that friend you can call in the middle of the night and I will be there.”

JW:

“Friendship means a lot to you?”

AA:

“It is what I cherish most.”

JW:

“I guess we will wrap it up here unless there is something you wish to add.”

AA:

“What superpower do you want when I write your bio?”

JW:

“Let me think about it, because knowing your books, I can only imagine what you will come up with.”

AA:

(Laughs) “I have a few ideas.”
